so much going on

Here is a quick update on what has been happening in the Long household the past week.
Last week (10/27) Wyatt had his followup appt with Dr Gaymes (cardiologist). They did another ECHO and its wasn't quite as traumatic as the first time. this time they let me hold him in my lap. don't get me wrong he screamed but it was that 'you're killing me scream'. he was just mad the nurse was touching him. thank goodness that was the only test they did. Dr Gaymes was very positive. he said the opening in the vessel was smaller and instead of having to go back when Wyatt is 6 months, we are waiting until he's 1 yr old. I'm so thankful for that. Dr Gaymes said he would have no trouble with it and that we could wait until he does to have the surgery but there is a quicker recovery and it's easy to complete the surgery when they are babies.
the Lord answered our prayers.
Praise Him!

after we left UMC we headed to Dr Freeman's office because Wyatt had a rough cough. I was already off for the day and I didn't want to take any chances. He had RSV. We caught it early, thank goodness. he is on breathing treatments, antibiotics, and antibiotic eye drops. poor baby!
the antibiotics upset his stomach, BAD! we have been up for several nights with him just crying & whining with the bad gas pains. after a full week on antibiotics & lower his dose to 1 time a day instead of 2. we'll see what happens but I just can't bear to see him in all that pain. It's not right.

Monday was his first day back at school. We kept him home all last week. by Saturday, I promise, if he could talk, I think he would have told me he missed school. he was totally off his schedule. and so was I. Monday morning, he was mad I woke him up to get ready for school and he whined the entire drive into town. when we got to school and into his classroom, he started giggling and smiling. all the other kids in the class were screaming and crying and my sweet baby boy was laughing and having a grand time. His teacher & I just started laughing. it was so cute.
needless to say, last night was much better, but I'm still exhausted.

OH, my sweet boy got 'student of the month' at his daycare. I know it's silly but it's cute. they try to make it fun, even for the babies. I love it.

now we are here today, hoping and praying that he gets better and we aren't back in the doctors office in another week getting more medicine. and I pray he is well for this weekend b/c we are having a big family cookout at my parents and I'm so excited b/c some old neighbors from when I was growing up, will be there to visit. I can't wait to see them and them see Wyatt.
