a few firsts

first popsicle all by himself
He loved it and was grunting for another one after it was gone.
Needless to say he ate the popsicle in the wagon with no shirt on.
Then straight to the bathtub afterward.

first trip to Crackle Barrell and first taste of chocolate milk
He had a blast....watching the other people.
He is so nosy - I was worried he wouldn't eat, but I was wrong.
He had biscuit, sausage, eggs, grits and chocolate milk.

long day already & it's only noon

Had to go to cardiologist Dr Ebeid's office for a work up for Wyatt's heart cath on August 31st. I'm so ready to get it over with. Today they needed to take measurements of his heart and arteries. It was torture and I'm being nice. It was awful. First he had a chest x-ray, then an ECHO, then an EKG. He screamed thru all of it. I was sweating from holding him down and the stress of it all. We talked to the surgeon and signed all the consent forms and then Dr Ebeid wanted one more measurement, so off we go for another ECHO. I was horrified that we had to do it again. After it was finally over he was tired and passed out when we finally got in the car. Was not happy to go to school. I just wanted to hold him all day. But I'm sure after a good nap and lunch he was fine. I just hate having to watch him go thru all that. And they should come up with a better way of doing those procedures on little kids.
Hopefully tonight he will sleep better than last night. I'm so ready for all this to be over with.
We report to Blair E Batson at 8am on August 31st in the Cath Lab. It will take a few hours for them to complete the procedure then we will spend the night and get up the next day, have another chest x-ray, ECHO, and EKG. If everything looks good, we go home.
Just pray everything goes smoothly.
This is a major procedure and nothing is 100% risk free.

Chicken Nuggets

we were sitting in the car eating chicken nuggets and waiting to go to swimming lessons. We had the best time playing in the car. Wyatt was such a big boy. He was so curious about everything in the front seat. I love having that time with him. We spend a lot of time together since Chip works the evening shift but it's still not just the two of us, or it's in the middle of the night. So the night of swim lessons is my favorite time.

blessed beyond belief.....

life hands you lemons, you make lemonade
I've had a lot of lemonade lately - yum yum!

right now, that statement holds such truth. I can't believe all that has happened in the last year, but staying optimistic and faithful has been my strength. Don't get me wrong, I am struggling everyday to keep that faith because the devil is trying to get me down. I won't let him. Lord, I prayer for strength and guidance.

My little man is my rock - I work very hard each day not to take that for granted.

new birthday toys and bathtime!

He loves the bath. If he hears water running he thinks he needs to get in. Even when I'm washing dishes. So funny!
The tugboat was from sweet Addison M. one of Wyatt's best buds. He loves the tugboat.

Also his new favorite thing is to stand in the tub. He will stand and fall on his rear and laugh/clap. It's so funny to watch. I'm so scared he's going to slip and break a tooth but he doesn't care. So I just let him have fun.

new shoes

Wyatt got his first pair of walking shoes, New Balance tennis shoes. He is so cute with them on. He of course hates them. He would rather go barefoot but mama says no. It's so funny. He has learned to pull off every pair of shoes I've ever put on him. It's so funny. I'll tell him no and he just smiles and shakes his head no. He's knows better but still does it.
This picture was at cousin Addie's birthday party. Wyatt found one of Andrew's toys and loved it. Anything with music and lights.
