Christmas 2008
Christmas turned out to be very special this year. very laid back and very special.
Chip and I decided that we weren't going to spend a lot of money and it actually paid off. b/c we were able to enjoy what we purchased. quality instead of quantity. it was nice to see my nephews not get so much they didn't even know how gave it to them. Santa was also very generous but simple.
it just turned out to be the best Christmas. We are headed to Brookhaven to have a slumber party at my grandmothers house. all the grandkids get together (young and older) and play cards and eat way too much and visit. it makes the holiday just stretch out. we enjoy spending time with each other and enjoying the time we have b/c you never know what tomorrow will bring.
Please say lots of prayers for my family, we are going to be having some changes in our lives this year and need all the prayers we can get.
lots of love in the upcoming days and year.

TLC.....
ok so I'm addicted to 'Jon & Kate + 8'. i TiVo every new episode. so this weeks episode is their Christmas show where they travelled to Memphis and purchases toys for the kids at St Jude's Hospital. i sat in my living room and cried from the moment the show started to the very end. i couldn't stop. i was a total basket case. it was just so sweet watching those sweet children and the parents talking about how blessed they were. talking about how much they appreciate life and don't take anything for granted.
it's amazing!
chip and i have prayed for a family for so long. and i also pray that when we are able to have our family, we appreciate everyday. no matter what life throws at us we will not take it for granted.
I'm such an emotional wreck lately. this time of year always enhances that feeling.
i even just had a customer that was talking about his wife and how wonderful she is and that they have been married for 50 years and she was the best mother and wife and friend. and i just lost it. i just started crying at my desk. it was so sweet. you always think in the back of your mind that 'i pray my husband talks about me that way in 50 years.' i want to be that woman.
ok I'm starting to tear up again.
until next time.

slacking off...
i have so many pictures to upload but our computer is on the fritz. it stinks.
OK so just some of my rambling.
i have been trying to loose some weight over the past few months. I've been successful and I'm so excited. such a motivator to keep going. well this morning i realized that when you loose weight you loose some perkiness (if you know what i mean). i was a little sad. and came to the realization that perkiness is something that i enjoyed. and i don't even have any kids. what is going to happen when i do. man, I'm in trouble. Dr 90210 here i come. maybe i can get the procedure 'pro bono'. ha ha ha
i have to go Christmas shopping today when i get off work. i am sooooo dreading it. i really just want to go home and curl up in the recliner and watch a Christmas movie. i did most of my shopping online this year but i have waited too late to get the rest. so out i go. hopefully all the crazy people will be at work and i will get done before they get out. I'm not in the mood to deal with stupid people.
OK have a great day
off to shop i go. wish me luck!

It's Snowing....in MS

busy week ahead...
this week is going to be so busy. first of all they are saying that Jackson is going to get 3-6 inches of snow tonight. whatever!! i won't believe it until i see it. we never get snow.
well this week is crazy. Saturday is my father-in-law's birthday, my nephew's birthday party in Hattiesburg, and my cousins couples wedding shower, our new nephew will be born on Monday, work Christmas party Friday and i have to go shopping for all occasions. i have been putting it off b/c i just didn't want to deal with it and i just don't want to spend the money.
and know it's going to snow so i will have to wait until tomorrow night to begin my advanced cardio shopping trip. a lot to do in a little time.
usually I'm so good about getting things done in a timely manner but this year i just am not in the mood yet. it just doesn't seem like Christmas to me. I'm not in the spirit yet.
i need help getting there. I've decorated the house and my work place is decorated, Christmas music is playing on the radio. i think i just need more this year. I'm in a BLAH state of mind. get me out of this funk.
i feel like we always put so much emphasis on presents and shopping that we forget it is about family and friends and spending time with each other and remembering Christ and our faith and be thankful for all we have been given by God. we are very lucky.
we should all reflect on God's glory this season.
